Great location on the marina. Great huge open air seating area. Food was decent, not great but decent. The open air seating on the marina made me like this place. Tip: their in-house xxx hot sauce is serious stuff. Be sure to read the label be four pouring gobs of it on your food.

The breezes off the water come right to you at any booth or table or bar stool of your choice. Great view of the marina. But we scored a huge culinary memory with an order of Royal Reds, the shrimp that is harvested at depths of more than 600 feet. A local tipped us that these shrimp were in season (summer to fall), but you would have to ask for them specifically because they weren't on the menu. These huge, red critters rival lobster for texture and taste. Dipped in drawn butter too. Memory lane just got paved for me in this admirable, tourist resto..

    Love the sea food here!

Conch Fritters were tasty, smoky and extremely fresh ! They were the best on Island. We ordered a Blackened Chicken Burger and Scallops/Shrimp Asian Entree. Which was just okay, nothing great or something to complain about. I will visit this place any day for *just* their conch fritters and Key Lime Mustard Dip !! Yummm !!

We stumbled here after the waitress (Alonzo's Oyster House) where we had "happy hour" for two straight hours, suggested for us to go for more "happy hour"...Conch's HH ended @ 7pm. Much more touristy than where we just were, but still have no regrets for the dining-drinking experience. I can not complain about its location; open patio thru-out overlooking boats docked on side of the Gulf coast. It was undeniably a beautiful scene. The enormous engaging bar w/ live band were the highlights of this hot tourist spot. So we still made it for their hh: two for one on well drinks. Our bartender made pretty stiff drinks too. I must say that the fresh raw oysters were pretty yummy!

I guess this restaurant was ok. I actually went on a recommendation from a local who said to order the Stone Crab. Unfortunately the season had just ended and they didn't have any. My husband isn't a seafood person, so he ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. I went on the recommendation of the server and ordered the bacon-wrapped crab-stuffed jumbo shrimp. The shrimp was ok - nothing spectacular, and the sides of the vegetables were quite soggy and bland. Maybe we went on an off-night. The biggest annoyance was the guy who was trying to sell kayak tours on the dock - he walked up to our table and talked to us until our food came to try and get us to take the tour. Ugh.

The food here was good, priced a bit high. The fish sandwich was tasty with Mahi Mahi. Raviolis with crab and shrimp my sister loved. Conch soup was great according to my dad. Being on the water and having the breeze was a nice addition.

This place has a great patio section with a nice view of the water. The "paella" came with a ton of mussels, clams, and shrimp but it's more or less their yellow rice just thrown in with the seafood not real paella. I definitely enjoyed myself here, but I could definitely find better food for the price

Probably one of my favorites in KW. Awesome location, right on the byte. You can literally sit at your table (open-air restaurant) and watch the boats come in, drop off the days catch for the menu. Nice decor, really cool huge fish tanks. Averaged priced for the Keys as you'd expect. Location itself is worth a lil'more to me. I had one of the best Mojitos there too.

One of my favorites in Key West. Get there for happy hour and sit outside under the yellow umbrellas- fantastic atmosphere, great drinks, and usually the music isn't bad..

Surprisingly good, being that it looks like a huge tourist trap, or maybe it is, but it is still just a good place. Steamed clams and fried conch are very good. Chicken strips for kids were pretty good too. Great view of the marina.

I have visited Conch Republic several times over the years and this recent visit was OK. Our server was very attentive, kept our drinks filled and was there when we needed him. I had one of the specials, blackened grouper with a mango and habanero chutney. Nothing notable about the dish that stuck out. I expected more heat from the chutney and my fish was about one minute over cooked. It wasn't chewey or hard, but it was not moist and firm. My mother in-law had the same comment about her mahi mahi dish. My wife had the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. The presentation for all the dishes was spectacular but even more for this dish. My wife enjoyed this fully until she got to the last shrimp which she thought has the shell left on or some of the crab shell found its way into the stuffing. I took a bite and agreed, something was not right with this particular shrimp. All of us felt the veggies were OK, serving asparagus out of season is a bit of a risk and they were a bit woody. The broccolini and sting beans I though were prepared perfectly and could have balanced all the meals out on their own. I'm taking a star away and making this three stars. I still have fond memories of meals past and am hoping that this was just an off night but I must score accordingly. If you have a few to several nights in Key West, I recommend you give Conch Republic a try. Finally, regardless of what yelp says, they absolutely do NOT take reservations.

Very touristy type place with a ton of people and slow service. The food was average with the only exception being the fried strawberries. the Drinks were in wine glasses about 5 oz and full of ice so half a shot of liquor and topped off with pineapple orange juice with a cherry=$ 7.95 RIPOFF, for folks with more money than sense , or do not drink and have lost all sense in their taste buds. better seafood found a little off the tourist areas.

My husband and I shared the special of the night (roasted red pepper Alfredo with beef tips and shrimp) delicious !!! I also ordered their grape fruit mojito made with vodka and it was surprisingly yummy as well! The can driver from maxi taxi gave us buy one get one half off drink cards so you can't beat that!

I've been here before and always remembered my time here fondly but yesterday it fell short. First off, our waiter was apparently not in the mood to be at work and spit out the specials so fast and low that we couldn't understand, I asked him for water and he never brought it, at first it took forever for him to come to the table and then he as there every time I took a bite. It was really strange. I ordered the fish tacos, which fell short of my expectations. It was ok but nothing to write home about. Hubs had the mahi sandwich and it was delicious. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were extremely overpriced for what they were. The view is gorgeous. The best part of the restaurant. I probably wont be back here. Just came because Hubby had never eaten here before.

The restaurant scene in KW is fierce. Wall to wall eateries and many are very good... on that basis, Conch Republic is good but if you asked whether I would move heaven and earth to eat there over, and over, again? Probably not. We went there for dinner one Monday night, when the band was just kicking off and we had no problems getting a table facing the water. Our server was bubbly, efficient and professional... all the things I like. However the food was hit and miss. Here's the rundown; Conch chowder cup - had, I swear, ONE 1-inch piece of conch in it Seared tuna appetizer - fish is sashimi grade and fresh. Large portion, and served with a mayo wasabi and ginger. Would have preferred straight wasabi personally. There is also an accompanying seaweed salad, while taste pretty good, was dyed to a shade of atomic green. I swear that thing would glow if I put it under blue light Snapper and crab meat 'wellington' - delicious. The fish was cooked just right and they were extremely generous with the crab meat. This was a highlight This restaurant is a save bet - but I urge you to be more adventurous with all Key West has to offer!

We came here twice. Had the special divers special. The veggies were amazing. The pineapple coconut bread is perfection. We came back a second time. The royal red shrimp are a must. My sister and I agreed we could both make a complete meal out of those shrimp alone! I had the crab stuffed ravioli with shrimp on top, which left me very satisfied. Next time I come to Key West, I will definitely come back to try more!

Good live music. Reasonably good simple drinks. All food is subpar, NOT worth it

In Key West, sure we should be laid back, but it should never reflect on bad service at any restaurant. It's Overpriced. Just mediocre food. Waitress not very good. It got busy and it seemed like once she took your order that completed her part. We never got refills on our small drink cups, nor did we see her ever again. There are many other reasonable priced , better food, and better service.

  • Sara G.

So this is basically a tourist trap. As long as you recognize and accept this, it's not bad. Nice location and they often have live music. The food is just OK. I got fish and chips lunch special. The batter for the fish could have used some seasoning but the fries were good. Boyfriend liked his Cuban sandwich.

By far, the best calamari I have ever had. Great atmosphere! We just had drinks and appetizers only. We had the Fish Dip along with calamari and raw oysters. The food impressed me the most. For a person sitting at a bar drinking, and ordering "bar food", this is the place to go in Key West.

    (5)
  • Jennifer S.

I love this bar! I've been coming here for years. As long as i've been coming to Key West, I always make this bar my first stop. I guess I like that many locals come here for the great 2 for 1 drinks happy hour. And the local monkeys really make a place for me. This bar/restaurant is open air right on the water. Can't beat the views. The food is your typical seafood pub grub for reasonable prices. I don't think the food is really anything special but not horrible either. The drinks prices are typical for Key West, but have an awesome happy hour which is what attracts the locals. I think I just like this place cause of the friends and locals I come here with. Just good memories. I love this place!

For a somewhat chainy seeming joint (is it a chain?), it was perhaps one of the best meals we had in Key West. You got your harbor-side locale, great for viewing pelicans and boats. You got your great menu, excellent blackened mahi mahi sandwich, amazing peel n' eat shrimp, and super fast and friendly service. Try the conch chowder as well, had a nice kick to it. Only let down was the mojito. It was so watered down, and tasted like it came from a mix. But - plenty of other drinks to order!!!

My husband and I sat down outside during happy hour and ordered a couple of beers. The server dropped off our beers and a couple of wooden tokens. We didn't know what the tokens were for but he was gone before we could ask. When my husband asked for the check, the server said "You're not gonna have another beer?", my husband said no and the server was obviously annoyed and said "Next time tell me ahead of time so I don't have to do a correction." Seriously, I kid you not. We were too shocked to respond right then and there and I regret not having asked to speak to a manager. Sorry, but there will be no next time. There are too many charming, cool, key west bars where you can just order a beer without having to specify that you are only going to have one, geez.

Had dinner and drinks here - Living in Florida for about 2 yrs and had conch twice - First time must of not been so memorable as I don't even remember where I had it - The conch here at Conch Republic Seafood Company was quite delicious - not over battered you can still taste the fresh conch - little chewy but very large pieces. I had the grouper served with mixed vegetables and masted potatoes. It was very tasty - Perfect portion - Not to small not to large. Our service was friendly. Greeted when we walked in and waiter was attentive. Love the view - Not a bad seat in the house.

What a great spot! Excellent atmosphere and location, and the food is excellent and there is lots to choose from. The servers were very friendly and steered us well in food choices. We ate there four times four times in five days.

Man, it was crappy day when we made our way to the Conch republic. It was pouring outside and we walked in soaked and were promptly greeted and seated by the host. Our waiter, Kevin, was very polite and attentive. He never let our drinks run out. He gave us the specials and recommended the Royal Red shrimp. Appetizers were out in 10 minutes and our peel and eat royal red shrimp followed 10 minutes after that. Here's what we have to say: She said: I ordered the shrimp gumbo. It has a red, creamy consistency and was very, very good. The smoked fish dip was also very good. I really thought it was nice touch that they give you three different options to eat it with-celery, cuban crackers, and seed crackers. I'm not a huge smoked fish fan and it wasn't too fishy. The royal red shrimp, on the other hand, were kind of disappointing. Our waiter raved on about how they were more like lobster than shrimp, and while this was true, they came overcooked and sometimes mangled or even just empty shells. They also weren't clean which is expected for peel and eat but you could really taste the fact that these guys hadn't been deveined. They had an almost grimey taste to them. The fries were unremarkable. We also ordered the strawberry tempura. I don't think they were tempura at all. They were deep fried and coated in sugar--not really my thing. All in all, the food was good and the staff was excellent. Oh, and the views in this restaurant are unlike any other in Key west. This restaurant sits on the boardwalk with these big garage door type windows that they open up to make it an outdoor indoors type experience. It's really sets apart the dining experience. He said: Her gumbo was very good and would definitely recommend it. The smoked fish dip was aweessommee. I really enjoyed it and the crackers and celery were good compliments to it. The "cuban crackers" are what some Miamians might know simply as Gilda-brand crackers and went very well with it. As promised, the royal red shrimp tasted like lobster. Unfortunately, i don't really like like lobster so I didn't particularly enjoy them. They were huge, which is good I guess, but also, as stated, some of them were decimated by over cooking and fell apart while peeling. I really didn't enjoy the shrimp. Stick to regular shrimp! The strawberry tempura tasted more like elephant ears from the fair but I like that so I thought they were good, but not a must-have. Again, smoked fish dip! Get it!

We stopped in after a long day of walking. Open air, but covered seating was where our table was located. Our family ordered a combination of items, from blackened mahi mahi to filet mignon with shrimp. All of the food was great. An extensive wine and beer list was a great addition. There was live music, and a great atmosphere. The service was good, not great, but the food quality made up for it.

  • E T.

Casual cool atmosphere. Very large open restaurant with bar with a GREAT breeze when they open the giant windows (which are actually convenient garage doors allowing you full view of the neighboring marina). We went there twice and had two awesome friendly helpful bartenders. Food and drinks were good, standard key west pricing. We will definitely go back!

We were a party of 12 for lunch. We had to be split between 2 tables, which wasn't a problem for us. Our servers were excellent, they got all of our orders correct and no one had an problems with their food. Our meals came out at the same time, were the right temperature and well seasoned. I felt the prices were reasonable and the portion sizes large. It was a good, solid meal for a great price. We parked our car next door for $8 for a 6 hours (until 6pm), which gave us all day long to walk around Key West and not worry about our car.

I'm a fan of this place. i always go when im in Key West. On my last visit in September, yet again, another good time. Food was good, wait staff is decent. I always get the Conch Fritters.Always on point. I really enjoyed the seared tuna with the kanasi (seaweed) salad. Great happy hour specials and good music to have a good time to!

Awesome place and great food. The service is phenomenal. Our bartender Patrick is the best EVER!!!! He is very friendly and informative. Food is awesome. Had the raw oysters, calamari, & smokey fish dip. Both were the bed I have ever had!!! Will def be coming back.

  • Robyn C.

I don't do this often but if I could give a negative star, this would be it. The hostess was extremely rude and refused to seat us (a party of 14) until every single person was there. We're a party of 14, for real?! I mean, do you know how hard it is to wrangle a party of 14?! I understand you're busy and all but NOT COOL. You know what's especially not cool, when more than half of us were there and they still threatened to give away the table. Multiple times. Let's just say that we had a bad taste in our mouth before we even got our food. It was going to take an act of God to get our blood to stop boiling. I recommend dining elsewhere. The end.

    (1)
  • Jeremy A.

Had a grouper sandwich here that was the special of the day and also the only thing that wasn't an arm and a leg. Prices were astronomical here, even for lunch. The sandwich was good and so were the conch fritters. Service was a bit slow and the bloody mary was terrible, but I cant go any lower since 3 stars since the food that I got was good and in the end thats all that matters!

  • Dr. Benwah W.

Had a terrific meal with four friends. Casey was our waiter and he was really great - i need gluten-free and he was knowledgeable and made sure the cook/chef was aware. I had the plaintain coated Mahi-Mahi and it was delicious, we also ordered Oysters and the old bay seasoned peel and eat shrimp. Both were very good. They had live music playing with a talented guitar dude. It is a big reastaurant that screams tourist, i usually avoid these but, in this case it was a homerun. If you are in Key West, put it on your list!

Great oysters!!! Went there for lunch and dinner in the same day and had great meals both times. Scallop for dinner were amazing and their oysters were great. Sit by the water for great views and people watching.

I want to give Conch Republic a 3.6 score. Yes, it's a tourist trap with a gift shop and loud, sneakered guests. News flash: ALL of Key West is a tourist trap with a gift shop and loud, sneakered guests. The food was really good. I had well-cooked blackened yellowtail snappah w/ rice and slighty overdone veg, and tried my husbands lobster bisque, well-cooked scallops, couscous risotto and slighty overdone veg. We basically ate it all, but were pretty stuffed thereafter. We paid around $60 all in for this, and I definitely thing it's over priced, but again, what it KW isn't?

    (4)
  • Jordan N.

DISCLAIMER: I didn't eat here. But the vibe is really cool - open air, touristy (that's hard to avoid anywhere in Key West) and very Keys. I plan to check this place out when I come back.

    (4)
  • Javier R.

This place is very nice, right in the heart of Key West. The food was a little overpriced, but tasted fresh, my wife order the lobster tail, and it was well prepared and juicy, you may have to wait 20 minutes for a table on a weekend, but is worth it. The waiter pass by the table a few times during our meal, so it was ease to order another drink.

    (5)
  • S J.

Disappointed. Group of 23 they split us into two tables (no problem) all sat at the same time. Service was prompt and wait time normal with a large group. Food taste was just OK. Most in our group was satisfied but would probably not return. One member of our group (77 year old fisherman) ordered a certain fish and got something else. The manager insist on the fish being what he ordered. Prices on the higher side for being average quality. After surveying our group, we determined that only a 1/3 of us would return. Service was very good.

  • Charlee G.

Not bad, just not great. Key lime pie was pretty good. Crab cakes were good, no better, no worse than others I have had. My husband's salad was okay

    (3)
  • Dave B.

Overpriced and just flat out not all that good. We paid $8 a piece for some crappy, watered down margaritas. The food is OK and the atmosphere is pretty cool, but with so many other dining options nearby, I would recommend steering clear from this place.

    (2)
  • Bruce T.

This is a great place for lunch. It is right on the water and has ample seating. I have to be honest and share that I was not expecting much from this meal because the place is in tourist central, but I was impressed. We ordered raw oysters and the to-die-for stone crab claws. For my main meal I had the fish of the day sandwich (fried). The bread in the sandwich was excellent and the fish perfect. Service good too.

    (3)
  • Mercie C.

Full rib rack, crab stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp, lobster tail, crab stuffed Ravioli with shrimp. The winner was the bacon wrapped shrimp. Really good tail. Killer ribs. Ravioli had a bit too much cream sauce but still good. The group voted and this dinner was the best!!! Piña colada was super yummy. Jaegermeister & Cranberry (was also bartender's favorite drink), beer was cold. Service was friendly & quick!

    (5)
  • Peter L.

Had high expectations even with the so-so reviews mixed with those praising this place. The service was ok. However, the food was terrible. The conch fritters were greasy, oysters parmesan was ordinary and the paella was watery and barely edible.

  • Arnaud S.

This place is a legit seafood joint. It could get really packed but the place is big. Nice bar area if you are looking for an early drink or waiting for your table. We tried the baked oysters as an app' and was very tasty. Then we got the mahi mahi and grouper, all very good, nicely seared, and specially not too greasy. I just wish there was a little less bar food option and more fish/seafood restaurant dishes. But i guess you need some for everyone... Overall a great dinner and affordable option in Key West. Fish and seafood were very fresh!

    (4)
  • Carolina C.

Only go here for the baked oysters appetizer. It's phenomenal but it's the only thing they've got going for them. I had to send my tuna back, the first time because it was overcooked and not seared rare, and the second time because they must have dipped the fish in used chicken fryer oil prior to plating. The waiter was awesome and not only didn't charge us for the meal, but also treated the entire table to a round of drinks. I appreciate the gesture but I hope they figure out what's going on in the kitchen because it was a major disappointment.

I can't even count how many times I've been here. At least three times each trip! Sometimes just to relax at the bar and at least once for dinner. Atmosphere- casual. open air restaurant next to the marina. Much less crowded than Duval. Close to Mallory square. Also, many of the hotels' shuttles pick up and drop off in front of this place. Food- never had anything I didn't like. MUST HAVE: cracked conch appetizer and St. Kitt's ravioli. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! I can't really comment specifically about anything else, because I can't remember the last time I ordered anything else. However, my company always enjoys their meal. Drink- awesome bar. Very casual. Super friendly bartenders. Great drink list, so hard to make up your mind! Many times you can get a coupon from your hotel for buy 1- get one free drinks. yay for that! Often times there is good live music. While at the bar you can be memorized by the beautiful aquarium. There is also a patio area where you can order the full menu. Overall, great place. Fun, casual, moderately priced. Enjoy!

Even if the food here sucked, which it does not, it would still be hard not to have a great time. IT"S KEY WEST for pete's sake. It's right on a marina, and it is right around the corner, literally, from one of the prettiest places to watch the famous Key West sunsets. The food is delicious, and with a full bar and a humongous drink menu, you can't help but have a very relaxing and fun dinner experience. Oh... and if you like pineapple upside down cake, definitely try theirs!

  • Jame F.

Great view, cold beer, average food, slow service, expensive prices...DO NOT order Coconut Shrimp which is by far the most horrible thing I've ever ordered from a menu! Completely overcooked in old oil. After eating this "appetizer" I was ill for the entire afternoon. FAIL!

Great spot for HAPPY HOUR. Located right on the water they offer great specials on drinks for happy hour. Also usually pretty good music to listen too. Bartenders friendly and laid back. Food is hit or miss and slightly pricey because its a huge tourist spot. The calamari is our favorite and one of the best we have had in Key West. A great place for a late afternoon drink, or 6.

  • L C.

Located on the docks at the historic seaport, this is another quintessential Key West dining experience. It's a huge, open air restaurant, where you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the waterfront while noshing on fresh Key West seafood-- shrimp, scallops, snapper, mahi mahi, etc. Food and drinks, as in many of KW's mid-range restaurants that we went to, get a solid 3 rating from me-- the catch of the day sandwich I had was an excellent value at about $10 and consisted of 2 huge fillets on a forgettable roll, while the entrees were a little more pricey. Nothing fancy, but enjoyable nonetheless. Must order: Key Lime martini-- Grey Goose vanilla vodka mixed with key lime and rimmed in graham cracker crumbs. Amazing!

    (4)
  • David F.

The seafood was fresh and hot with good portion size. But, the key selling point of this place is the ocean view and the incredible deck. We hit Conch Republic for lunch on our way back home and I wish we could have been there for dinner on the deck to watch the sunset and listen to the band.

Okay but average food. You can do a lot better for your money.

  • Melissa L.

Skip it. Mediocre food at best, priced for tourists, and the service was lacking. There are better choices within spitting distance of this place. Specifics? Frozen mango on the salad. Frozen avacado that turned and tasted like chum. Asked for condiments enough times to have to grab them from another table out of frustration. Over all miserable experience on an island with too many excellent choices to be bothered with a place like this. Go somewhere, ANYWHERE else.

    (1)
  • Eric T.

Solid place for the 2 for 1 happy hour. The calamari was good as well. I like the ambience of this place more than Alonzo's. And the bartenders all seemed nice and helpful. It's a large open space, so you can look out to the water and see the boats by the marina.

We were only in Key West for the day from Miami and we decided to come here for lunch on a recommendation. We started with the conch fritters which were great. We also had drinks, which were a bit on the strong side, but can't complain about that. I had the fish tacos which were fresh and well seasoned. We also decided to go all out and get the Key Lime pie - also great! This place is touristy and a bit over priced and I would say the service was so-so, but overall I would recommend it.

    (4)
  • Travis V.

Definitely comes off as a touristy place but the food and service was actually pretty good. Attentive waitress was a plus; she was prompt with ordering and refills. Also gave some other good local recommendations Key West Sunset Ale - good (local-ish) option to go with the seafood to come cracked conch - tasty especially liked the orange marmalade horseradish sauce on the side Deep Sea Shrimp - one of the specials of the day. very generous one lb. with an almost lobster flavot to them. highly recommend Catch of day Sandwich - that day it was mahi mahi, good price, blackened option soft flavorful Cuban bread & fresh mayo, tomato, and lettuce as toppings Key lime pie - probably rate it above the average for all the ones I tried on the island Giving it 4 stars just because it was a little too touristy for my tastes

    (4)
  • Jenn C.

The two stars is for the view and the vibe, period. Located right on the marina, it offers some beautiful views and breezes with the large, open layout. It's nice and relaxed inside, so it would be awesome for maybe just drinks. But save your stomach for something else, because this was the worst meal I had on my vacation. First off, to start, one dozen oysters and the famed conch fritters. The oysters were completely flavorless, shucked poorly, and overpriced. And the conch fritters had no trace of conch at all, they might as well have been hush puppies, and they were heavy. While they didn't taste BAD (they are fried afterall), they were not good. We had a blackened cod BLT, which was, once again, bland and flavorless. How can ANYTHING blackened or with bacon be flavorless? Somehow they made it happen. The bread was overdoughy and the best thing on the plate? The french fries, which were just ok. I had a salad with macadameia nut crusted tilapia, pineapple, tomato, lettuce, and avocado, and this fared a little better since all the produce was fresh at least, but once again...the fish was bland! The rich, buttery macadameia nuts had somehow had their wonderful flavor diminsished. Service was slow and he forgot my water; plus it was very, very expensive for such mediocre food.

We had the cracked conch (very tasty!), the daily catch sandwich, and the coriander tuna... All of them were very delicious. Great service, despite the crowd, nice live music, and good food while overlooking the water. What more could we ask for??

This was the best place we ate at while on Key West! Flash-fried Conch blew the "fritters" at other places outta the water. Half shell oysters were great, and reasonably priced. I ordered the seafood paella at our server's (Olga) recommendation which turned out to be awesome. Their table bread and array of habenero based hot sauces complimented each entree with a one-two punch of sweet and spicy. Thoroughly satisfied... Do yourself a favor and check this place out before you leave the keys.

Very good vibe, head there after sunset for a great breeze and some oysters

Real decent place to sit at the bar and hang. Great beers on tap. For food, order the local catch. The have a 2 for 1 drink special early in the evening, so that's always good. Got some live music as well. Good spot right on the docks. I would go here again.

We really liked this restaurant, right on the marina and some live music made a really nice setting for a great meal after a long day of beach and shopping in key West. The conch fritters were excellent as well as the pink shrimp, paella, and yellowfin snapper. service was very good, A really good experience and would definitely go back

A day alone, a desire to watch the boats. Hello, Conch Republic Bar Seating. If you've ever been to a Pappadeaux or similar seafood restaurant inland, I think this place is the inspiration. It has become gigantic itself (hello, gift shop), but the food is good, the service excellent, and the attitude relaxed. My meal wasn't wild. I got a caesar salad. I'd been eating the fish we'd caught all week, so a salad was nice. Should you have bad luck on your trip, I'd recommend their catch instead. Excellent for eating any time of day, and especially around happy hour.

I really love this place, right on the harbor. It's my go-to happy hour spot in Key West. 2 for 1 drinks, live music, rustic open air space with a huge bar and great food. Perfect place for some oysters and beers before heading over to Mallory Square for the nightly sunset celebration freak show.

Another stop on a key west pub crawl, at first I wasn't a fan of one of the bartenders as I requested to try their conch his response: you are only here for a few minutes we don't have time", another bartender overheard this and said don't worry about it I'll take care of it and get you some conch fritters right away. This particular bartender and another one I had an encounter with seemed very nice. Honestly I wasn't too crazy about the fritters, they lacked flavor all I tasted was the breading. The pieces of conch within the fritters were so tiny. Drinks were ok. I liked the views of the place after all you are right by the water.

We ate here when we were in Key West recently. The ambiance is exactly what you would expect it to be. Relaxed, fun, and right on the water. The food was good, how can you resist conch fritters! YUM! loved their beer selection, it had a great variety and again, great people. Its a must go to if you want a chill time.

Host staff was awful. They were rude and extremely unaccommodating. The food was good, but nothing special, and with all of the awesome places in Key West, I would recommend trying some of the other spots on the island.

  • Lisa L.

The app to order here is the fish dip. Also, when in season, the local shrimp called reds that taste more like lobster than shrimp. Happy hour has great drink specials and the beers couldn't be any colder coming from huge iced up tubs. It might be touristy but they always have live entertainment and it's removed from Mallory square so you don't have to deal with the vendors and the pet tricks if you don't want to

    (4)
  • Dennis S.

This was nothing but a tourist trap. The drinks and live entertainment were great, but the service and flavors were very poor. I recommend finding another spot to dine. To use the bathroom you need to walk through a small retail area... use the demo hand lotion in this retail spot on your way out of the bathroom - it was fabulous! Paul fell in love with Rum Runners at this place.

We stopped in on a quick jaunt around Key West since we knew we had to eat some conch somewhere. The place was in a nice location - we sat at a little table overlooking the water. The service was odd and hurried, though - we had, like, 4 different servers, it felt like. The food? Whatever. We did the fried conch which was good enough - good experience and the sauce was good. The seared ahi was delish - fresh and served with a nice wasabi mayo type sauce.But. The Conch chowder was pretty inedible. It was just watery and gross with a super odd taste to it. I do not recommend it at all. Overall, a whatever place - super toursity but that is Key West as a whole. I wish I'd done some more research to find a place but we were on a super limited time budget.

I didn't think the food was good (especially the paella - very disappointing). The atmosphere however really made up for it. It was very relaxing and fun. I would go back for a drink any day

Ambiance: 4. We arrived post sunset, but still got a fair view of the marina just as people describe. Problem is Conch Rep is so big that you may end up with a table not near anything, just smack dab in the middle of other tables, as we did. Live entertainment 'often' is what we were told but nothing was going on when we got there about 9. Cost: 3. For how fresh things were we definitely paid up for it. Just seemed too pricey for the amount/quality of food we got, which I'll get to in a second. Food Quality: 3. Conch fritter appetizer, great. "Catch of the Day' Fish sandwich, insanely fresh. That's about it -- seafood ravioli dish several of us got, a special I believe, was basically 80% salt. Epic fail, surprising for something that was always reference as so fresh all the time. Other shrimp dish we had was mediocre at best. Service: 3. Waiter's were pretty quick, had backup service staff which helped with fresh and fast delivery of our appetizers and main dishes. That said, out waiter was borderline accusing of us of dining & dashing from the bar earlier in the night, which didn't bold well in my book -- at least get your accusations in order before you interrupt a table eating dinner. When to return: An hour or so before sunset, followed by a walk to watch the sunset shortly thereafter. Make sure to wait a little bit longer and try to sit directly next to the marina, which is why you are coming here in the first place. Little less barish than some Key West counterparts like Sloppy Joe's so probably a better place for families.

Conch fritters were just disgusting, looked like fried a million times. Burger was just as bad. I bet they use the same uncleaned grill for everything.

It was our last night in Key West and we wanted to make sure we enjoyed our final dining experience. We've already had as much seafood as we could stomach in the few days we were there but made room for a little bit more. The 25 minute walk from and back to our hotel was well worth it. Great service, good food, live entertainment, big screen TV's (at the bar) and a nice waterfront location. Their conch fritters were a decent appetizer. I liked the conch itself but I like the batter of the conch fritters at B.O.'s better. For entrees, I had the special which was a snapper or grouper in a baked pastry. Think chicken pot pie but with fish instead of chicken. I devoured it. My wife enjoyed her entree too but I forgot what it was.

  • Angela A.

The drinks, food and dessert here were amazing! I LOVED the conch fritters and was craving more my entire trip. I had the stuffed shrimp as my entree which was also delicious and finished my evening off with one of the best key lime pies I've ever had! My boyfriend and I went back our last night just to get some dessert. It's cute that they also have a little gift store attached to the restaurant so you can pick up some last minute gifts or peruse while waiting for a table.

Not a fan. The food was ok. Presentation was above average. Atmosphere was above average. But, I felt ripped off because the food was expensive for slightly-below-average food. Just my .02.

This may be my new favorite bar in KW. 1st of its HUGE. Its open on all sides like a garage so you dont get that feeling like your missing the sunshine while you are in a bar. Its also right on the marina so you can pull your boat right up to it! The bartenders are fast, the food is great, and there is lot of eye candy. And by eye candy, I mean boys. Cause after all, Its KW.

I really enjoyed eating here. Our waitress was great and on the ball. All the different appetizers and food were ordered was great. The drinks were alright and i think they could have been better. As for the price, it was also decent. Overall I would recommend this to anyone staying in Key West.

Our food was delicious! I had the conch app that was fried & served with a orange marmalade @ fresh stone crab legs! It was more this enough and delicious. My husband had the yellow tail snapper and it was very tasty. Service was good & a great view of the harbor & boats.

Had dinner a couple of times. The food is amazingly fresh and original. The seafood is of course delicious. The location is great and very romantic. They also boast a huge aquarium across the main dining room. I'll take one star off because they served the entrees while we were not even half way through our appetizers. This was very disappointing but we got over it thanks to the succulent products we had. EDIT: I returned last weekend and have to give them 5 stars. The reason? I have never been disappointed by a single item there. I was with a couple of friends and all the food was perfect again. Service can be hit or miss but I still think the food and the superb location make it a must-go. PS: our waitress recommended the Cracked Conch vs the Conch Fritters. WORTH IT. Much bigger pieces of conch. delicious.

Conch Republic is the type of place that I could come back to night after night. The casual bar atmosphere is great - open air, right on the water, live music, tons of energy, everyone having a great time. And what makes this place even more amazing is the quality of the food! So many Key West spots with this same laid back vibe offer up sub-par bar grub...maybe with some breaded shrimp and fish stick options. This place is quite the exception. The food was delish! I ordered the lobster ravioli and others in my party ordered the scallops, blackened swordfish and the tuna steak. We were all picking from one another's plates trying to pick our favorites. I landed on the swordfish. It was so exceptional that I had to switch plates with my husband because I just couldn't get enough. But the scallops were a very close second. Basically, none of us were disappointed. It was all delicious. I highly recommend an evening spent at Conch Republic - start out with drinks at the bar...chatting up with the friendly bartenders...front row to the band...and then move on to dinner at a table near the water!

Food was just okay. We had conch fritters as an appetizer and crab stuffed mushrooms. Both were yummy. Main dishes were disappointing however. Mine was the stuffed shrimp. Tempura strawberries were a nice end to the meal.

This was my biggest priority when I got off the cruise...conch fritters. We walked in a big circle around the massive place to find the host stand. Turns out you can just grab a open table on the deck yourself. If you see an open one..jump on it. If you are short on time, like us, we were smart to immediately pick up the menu and hash out what to order for drinks AND food when the waiter came. They only come by every 15 mins, but they are really sweet. We loved the conch fritters. I also give high stars on the cracked conch with wasabi-marmalade, conch soup, and oysters. I am so sad I didn't have time to soak up the key west atmosphere..and this place had it. Loved how it was on a bay with lots of ships and across the street from Kermit's famous Key lime pie. This place is literally at stop 8 of the City View hop on/off trolley tour. Have the kids check out the fish tank by the host stand..they might find Nemo

came for happy hour, but stayed for dinner. Get your drinks at the bar. The mojitos are awesome. The bartender is awesome. Ashlin, our server started off questionable, but proved to be great. Half rack ribs-tender, juicy and flavorful. I didn't offer to share any. ;-) $15 for order. I got a double serving of veggies as a substitiute for the cole slaw and French fries. Veggies were actually al dente and crunchy. Cracked Conch appetizer - Marmalade and horse radish gave an interesting kick. Service was good.

After our sunset cruise, we walked across the marina and had dinner here. We did not have a reservation and dinner service was in full swing at about 8:30PM. We got seated after about a 20 minute wait. Now truthfully speaking we did have a few drinks in us from the sunset cruise, but we loved this place. We ordered some cocktails (mojitos were awesome!) with dinner and were served this delicious coconut bread. I ordered a house salad, which was good and then for dinner I had the Key West Mahi which was good too. My wife ordered the stuffed shrimp which was way better (so get that!) and might have been the best dinner dish of the vacation. I had a piece of my friend's steak and it was good too. Another friend in our group ordered her steak medium well but it came out too well done. She returned and got back a new steak very quickly. We had a fun time here and highly suggest reservations along with a request of a table closer to the outside for some nice views of the marina.

wow! wasn't expecting much of this place until i tried the conch chowder and that was out of this world. the blackened corvina w habanero mango chutney equally exquisite! all around impressed! great live music added to the vibe. Do keep in mind that the whole place is pretty much covered outdoor seating... what started out as a doozy of a day w an unrelenting deluge of rainstorms finished w an excellent evening w my beautiful better half. love my life w you!

Cracked conch - much better than the fritters I've had . You get more of the conch flavor and texture. Oysters on the half shell - from the ocean to mah belly! OMG The best, freshest oysters I've ever eaten. Very nice. Crab cakes - A bit oily but tremendous flavor. I would recommend them if you are CCL (Crab Cake Lover). Conch chowder - This was . . . different. Wonderful flavor, would order it again in a second. Not the chowder i am used to. The menu does explain that it is a red chowder so I knew it was not my usual "Yankee" chowder but it was tasty. Some spice and a shiton of flavors goin on! Sweeeet. Key West shrimp w/jerk seasoning - Good, not great. But good. All of this with some Appleton estates served neat washed down with a Yuengling beer. My better half was teaching them how to serve their Key Lime Martini (not in a martini glass but over ice in a tumbler). Service was excellent even though it was busy, our server was from Kansas City and never let us go dry or hungry. P.S. - Must try the bathroom hand dryer! You'll see what I mean.

Ambience-4 Service-2 Food-3.8 Parking-2 Beer/Wine-4 If you searched "conch fritters" and chose this place, you will get serviceable fritters. The raw oysters were delicious as were the steamed clams. My tuna tataki was not as fresh as another I had had recently on my trip, and I hate to compare, but when you get such wonderful seafood here, it is easy to get spoiled. The artichoke dip good enough, and the calamari fresh with an excellent remoulade. I agree that if you want a large place with lots of people, loud with chatter and music, open and looking out over the water, the ambience is good, but I wouldn't go here to have a conversation that needed to be remembered. I hate to slam service when you have only one experience, and the support staff to our waiter seemed nice, but unfortunately, it was perfunctory and not as friendly as other places here in Key West. I don't disagree with other reviewers, just was underwhelmed.

My boyfriend and I visited here during the summer of '10 on a Cruise. The location was great and the view was lovely from restaurant because it was right next to the marina. The food here was sooo amazing!!! I don't know if it was because we were eating boat food the whole time, but it's been 6 months and I'm still craving their conch fritters! You have to try the conch fritters when coming here because they are the best and it is served with spicy mayo sauce that compliments it very well. Our waitress recommended that we try the catch of the day (which happen to be yellow tail that day) and you can order it three ways: Grilled, blackened, or Fried. I told her that i liked it spicy, so she recommended the Blackened. It packed a lil kick and was super moist and tasted great with a squirt of lemon all over that bad boy. My man ordered the thai prawns which aesthetically looked beautiful, but tasted alright. They poured a sweet and spicy glaze over it, but it was personally too sweet for my liking. Our waitress was very accommodating to our Cruise schedule and made sure that we got our food out promptly so we could have a little more extra time to go site seeing.

Seafood is great, cant speak for anything else on the menu. Service is good, prices are reasonable for being on the water on Key West. I have had the biggest Oysters Calaloo i have seen in my entire life, for $9, it could have been an entree! Good atmosphere.

Tourist spot. Huge, kinda clean, expensive drink "specials". My blackened mahi fish tacos were good but I deserved better than minute rice as my side. I won't go there again.

Sunday funday started out with a nice bike ride around town and our hotel recommended to stop here for lunch. We had drink coupons (buy one, get one-- make sure to ask at your hotel) so we grabbed a couple beers and had the seared tuna salad and the stuffed mushrooms. Both of them were delicious, the blue moon was cold and they had two football games on the flat screens. This place has a great gift shop if you are looking for over-priced Key West trinkets.... overall, I would recommend this place for lunch but not for dinner... great location by the harbor.

Conch Republic has a pretty cool vibe, but the food sucks. The conch chowder was worth ordering, but all around the table people were disappointed with their meals. I had the swordfish and it wasn't worth remembering. I definitely wouldn't come back.

it's been over a year since i had the pleasure of eating here, but i remember the experience as if it were yesterday- that's how good the food was! must have item: stuffed shrimp. it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! you are literally next to the ocean, so you can smell the amazingness that is the ocean. it really doesn't get any fresher.

A KW favorite that we've been to many times. With the in-laws in tow we walked from the Truman Annex to the waterfront on a beautiful day to have dinner by the water. Mojitos were excellent, made with fresh mint. I had a half-dozen raw oysters which were great and Father-in-law had a half dozen clams, which were much smaller than my oysters and made him jealous. Father-in-law had the 1 lb peel and eat shrimp. They were larger than his thumbs and he was delighted. I had blacked swordfish fillet and the ladies had blackened chicken sandwiches. The service was prompt for such a big place and we all enjoyed our meals. We'll be back yet again.

The Conch was THE happy hour spot for everyone I worked with during my time there. It's also where the locals hangout. Every time I was there I saw the same group of people, and dogs, chilling/standing at the same section of the bar. Everyone there were friendly, like typical Key Westers. They have good specials every night and the food (not on specials) was good but nothing special compare to the other restaurants on the island. I really like their mojitos and some mix drinks. Try their local beer too (I like local inventions) so it can be the taste that reminds you of the wonderful time you spent in KW. It's on the corner of the Marina so it gets really busy after the tour boats come back. It has good he decor is nothing special except for the big fish tank sitting like a wall between the bar and the tables. Not much of a view neither unless you like boat/tourists watching.

Got pretty much what we expected after reading some other reviews. Cool location close to Duval and at the Marina, check; Busy, loud open-air dining, check; average but acceptable food, check. For our visit I felt service was below average and the 'band' wasn't very good. Still, we got a nice touristy Key West dinner for average cost. If driving, there is a metered lot right at the restaurant that had some spaces open. Saved us $10-15 from the parking nazis.

This review is based purely off of happy hour and booze only. Unfortunately, we were unable to eat here. However, the happy hour here is awesome. Buy 1 drink, get 1 free. Can't really complain about that. If you are in the area around happy hour, come on over here and help out your wallet!

Had two nice dinners here and can vouch for their grilled Key West shrimp (w/jerk sauce or their own concoction called juju slather), conch chowder, Island salad, key lime pie and pina colada. Fresh food, good service, good music and it's real close to the water. Definitely a fun place.

On a recent trip to Key West, I was looking for some good seafood in a place that didn't require reservations, and that wouldn't be super-touristy and overpriced. Conch Republic, while having plenty of tourists, definitely fulfilled the other 2 criteria. We got there around 8:30 on a Saturday night, and while told it'd be about 25 minutes for a table, were seated within 10 minutes. Everything on the menu looked delicious, and all the plates we saw being brought out to other tables looks yummy too, so it was very hard to decide what to order. We opted for the smoked fish dip, a 1/2 dozen raw oysters, and 1/2 pound of Key West pink shrimp as appetizers. We made some great picks because they were all delicious. The oysters were tasty, the shrimp were HUGE, and the fish dip was delish. The fish dip was served with Cuban crackers, which I found too bread-y; I ended up eating the dip with the leftover Saltines from the oysters. For entrees, we didn't want to stuff ourselves so we'd have room for Key Lime Pie later, so we opted for some lighter fare. I went with the blackened grouper sandwich (which was not listed on the menu, but mentioned by our waitress when asked what the catch of the day was) with fries, while my dining companions opted for the crab cakes (appetizer portion) and the spinach salad with blackened tuna. All 3 dishes were excellent. The blackened grouper was moist and delish, and the fries were well-seasoned. The spinach salad had a lot of fruit in it, whose sweetness blended nicely with the tuna. We opted to go elsewhere for dessert, but noticed they had a few tempting selections. I would definitely recommend Conch Republic to any big group looking to dine on fresh seafood in Key West. But don't go if you're looking for something a little more upscale, or tourist-free.

Ok I have to admit that we didn't even eat here, but I am compelled to write a good review of this place. First, the place is gorgeous! I think there's maybe 1 wall, the whole restaurant is open air. I just can't get over how beautiful it is there. My husband and I stopped there for a cocktail while tooling around town one afternoon. He's a huge seafood fan, me not so much.

The common theme for this restaurant would have to be: "nothing special" The "Catch of the Day" Sandwich tastes like Fresh fish...on bread. Nothing special about it. Two friends ordered it cooked two different ways, and we all came up with the same conclusion. I had Conch Chowder. There was plenty of Conch in there, which was good, but, the chowder was too salty, and nothing special about it. there was no complementing ingredients. I also ordered the pulled pork sandwich (My friend asked me why I would order pork at a seafood place...very good point...). The meat was juicy, but had no flavor. the sandwich itself was just plain, boring, and "not special". We also had the Snapper BLT. Friend's comment: "It turns out, bacon DOES work with everything". This might be true, but outside of the good tasting fish, the sandwich was very unimpressive. Where is the special sauce, or special ingredient that jumps out at us?? nowhere to be found. I'm a huge fan of crab cakes and am on a mission to find the best crab cakes in the world. This is not where they exist. The pulled/minced crab meat was mixed with too many other ingredients. And it resided on a weird sauce that didn't really fit. Overall, 2 stars. The fish was definitely fresh, but so is almost every other restaurant out there! there was nothing memorable to lure me back to this place.

After spending 6 days here this July with my gf and her two kids, I can honestly say we all wondered where all the good food was...each meal we had had so far was very lackluster...and expensive at that! On our last night we ate at Conch Republic-damn! Finally, a great meal! I had the sesame crusted tuna and it was outstanding. Our server was great, too.

We had a large group of 11 and even though it was pretty packed it was nice to be seated right away. This is a fun place in Key West although it does seem quite overpriced compared to other similar restaurants in the area. The service was fine although the waiter was not particularly friendly and he did get one of our orders wrong. The food was enjoyable though-I really liked the yellow rice and the veggies (which had a tasty somewhat spicy sauce) that accompanied several of the dishes. I had the stuffed shrimp which was good but a bit rich and I couldn't finish it all. A decent experience overall but there may be better deals out there.

I arrived here with 46 guests one night who all work for me. After a Fury sunset cruise, they were shot out of cannon and ready to eat and keep the merry-making going. My assistant had arranged for this buffet style dinner to be arranged. It's very obvious that the CR was well versed in this type of arrangement. The tiki bar (our own) was well stocked and equipped with a personable and knowledgeable bartender from Gloucester MA of all places! Most people in Key West are from somewhere other than the Conch Republic! We had walked over from the Fury floating dock marina over by the Westin........a five minute walk. The buffet was in a well "secured" area right at the front door door as you walk in from the parking lot. Surrounded by palm trees and other growth it made the area a little more private but allowed for us to watch the steady marina-side traffic stroll by. The meal offered us a choice of pastas, mahi, salad, chicken and roast beef. All presentations were well above what would normally be described as buffet style food. Good flavors and even better service made this a two and three times around experience for many. The drinks kept coming and the appetites stayed at a peak. Dessert, I believe, was a hot buttered rum cake and of course the staple key lime pie. I had a quick taste of the rum cake and it was very good. I have dined at the CR several times before with my wife and other couples. Always a safe bet and that very, just what you expect, bar Key West bar atmosphere of noise via TV's, large crowds and the presence of a very good band. Enjoy this very good spot in Key West and as an avid angler and boater, I really enjoy the marina-side location.

Food isn't great, it's a major tourist spot, the service is hit or miss, BUT the major plus is that it's very open, there's always live music and lots of beer. Just get a bottle because the drafts taste pretty bad. Maybe more cleaning needs to be done? Anyhow, go there for drinks and live music. Eat somewhere else.

Good, but not great. Pretty busy and crowded. More of a "bar" feel, but with restaurant (not bar) food. Awesome location though- overlooks the marina. Dont come here if youre looking to relax.

Slow and unhappy waiters, overpriced (even for KW), but the appetizers were very good.

After burning our tongues at Peppers, we always make it a point to walk over to Conch Republic to cool off mouths. It always seems to be happy hour when we come here, so that's a plus in my book! Service is always great and beers and seafood are always served with a smile. The food is pretty decent and the seafood is fresh. We've had the raw oysters, conch fritters, and some type of deep water shrimp cooked with what seemed to be like Old Bay seasoning- all were good in my book. I didn't care for the steamed oysters, but my husband loved them- so I guess those just depend on your pallet. The view of the marina is great too :) Don't forget to pass by Peppers on your way to Conch Republic for a buy 1 get 1 free (or $5 off per person) coupon ;) After all, every penny saved is a penny that could go towards another cold beer!

More like a giant open-air cafeteria than a restaurant, this place reeks of "family" and has a bit of a DIsney vibe going on, what with the caricature of a conch on the menu and the very Bubba Gump-esque naming strategy that includes "Company" in it. HOWEVER the location is really nice - you're overlooking a nice marina full of small boats and yachts so make sure to get a table on the outer rim of seating. The seabreeze blows through the whole place in the evening, so it's perfect after a long day of sunburning and swimming. The menu is really thorough and varied, and it sounds really delicious - we tried a couple of dishes and they were absolutely amazing - coconut shrimp was light and crunchy, the Mahi Mahi sandwich was loaded with juicy fishmeat and the sesame tuna steak was this huge tart slab of tuna that was filling and cheap too. The food came quickly and the waiter was polite and attentive. The bill was completely reasonable (I think somewhere in the $50 range, all in including a few glasses of wine) and the atmosphere was very jovial. Overall, I think the reason I liked this place so much is that it wasn't one of the generic "dump-referred-by-a-local-and-celebrated-by-throngs-of-tourists-for-no-good-reason" places. I will definitely be going back...

Cheap beer !!! Wow, at least for a large restaurant with a prime location on wharf. Good live music playing and the place was packed? I wasn't going to eat here, I usually like to seek out those hidden gems but every time I walked by this place it was full so I had to see what all the commotion was about. We had the Coconut Shrimp to start. It was good but I have had better and I thought it was a little pricey at $13 for 4 shrimp, the citrus sauce it had was very good, we used the conplimentary bread that came with our meal to dip in it. I had the Paiella and enjoyed it but I felt it lacked something, one dimensional flavor. Our server recommended this over the Blackened Chicken. The service was good and fast.

Located along the Key West harbor walk, Conch Republic Seafood Company is a charming open air restaurant with a huge bar and a great view of the docks. Malibu mojitos and cosmos were well made here; bf and I got a few drinks in us in no time. We also shared conch fritters and the cracked conch. The fritters were a little fishy, but the cracked conch was really fresh. We'll probably be back here again during our vacation.

Typical menu but sizable bar and drink variety. Located right next to the water and across the street from a 'everything' key lime store doesn't hurt!

Great location, enormous space with a huge bar & really loud, but fun atmosphere. The food is just OK. It's more like a red lobster - fast food seafood type place. Be prepared to wait as there is always a line & service is too fast - apps, entree & dessert w/ check paid in just under an hour. Menu has something for everyone, including kids. We had raw bar of oysters & clams which were fresh, but not shucked that well. Entrees of stuffed shrimp & grouper were fair, but nothing special. Server was very nice & everything came out as ordered. Too many alternatives available, especially at this price point.

Every time I'm in Key West, I saunter toward the Conch Republic Seafood Co. for lunch or dinner whether I'm with friends or on my own. Either way, theres a Jimmy Buffet song playing in my head. I really like this place which sits just a couple blocks off of Duval Street right on the marina. All of the exterior walls disappear into the ceiling (barring torrential rains, of course), and the marina activity never fails to entertain. Maybe it's boats coming in with the most recent catch, kids chasing seagulls, or the locals meandering. Last time I was there, I had the conch chowder which was rich, zesty and super fresh, and a Snapper BLT - crazy yum. Topped off with a Coco Mojito, this lunch was a highlight of my trip.

Worst meal from our trip to Key West. Short story - slow service, watered down drinks, overcooked (& not fresh!) shrimp served with the most god-awful sauce, overcooked and over seasoned steak, cold and stiff mashed potatoes. And that was just my meal. Yuck. Maybe it was an off night for them, I dunno, but it was a major disappointment.

The food was very good for the price. Ordered the conch fritters which were pretty good. The catch of the day sandwich was fried mahi mahi; that was very flavorful. They don't seem to over-salt their food, which is a plus in my book. What I liked best was the ambiance. We were seated by the dock on a beautiful Key West day. Service was prompt and our waitress was very attentive. The only reason I gave three starts was because the food was missing a kick. It was borderline bland, but still tasty.

  • Karen B.

Service was adequate. They seem so used to the traffic they could care less about you. My dish was actually good though, snapper. It came out so quick I was suspicious but I must admit it was good. The place is nice and open and on water but I would rather pay more and have a nicer experience. The men that work there are grumpy.

I have been eating here since 2004. The food is good and the drinks are better! The 2-for-1 drink coupons, which are ubiquitous in Key West, come in very handy. The seafood is above average. The conch fritters are a must. Ditto, for the crab cakes. The place is lively and the service is friendly. The bar area is very good. A great place to have a drink and people watch.

We ate here for a group dinner the day before a wedding. They had an area setup outside the main restaurant for us along with our own bar serving mojitos and a few other drinks. Can't speak for the full menu since we had a buffet style dinner. Most food was decent but not great, however don't know if single plate entrees are better. Location is great, right on the marina with a large bar. They served key lime pie for dessert and it was the best we had during our stay.

From the outside, it kind of looks like another tourist seafood place, but dinner changed my mind. Isn't that how suprises occur. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We ordered the cracked conch, not the fritters 'hush puppy' style with bits of conch you'll get at most other places, these were large pieces, battered and deep-fried goodness. I took the offer of the daily special, a fish 'Wellington' that was delicious. I was a bit nervous but felt adventurous and was not disappointed. The pastry was flaky and not tough, the grouper and crab filling very tasty. Served with hearty mashed and properly cooked veggies, a very good meal. Others at the table had: seared tuna, a large Rubik's cube serving that somehow was cooked properly and you could cut it with a fork; Grilled Dolphin (the fish not the mammal, or Mahi Mahi as known on the west coast) was seasoned and cooked to a delicious state. Other Notes: Airy dining area, with friendly service; live music, not too overpowering; friendly service.

Thank you Conch Republic for satisfying our conch and raw oysters cravings. We came across this place thru yelp whiling looking for a snack/lunch in Key West. We were sick of our Royal Caribbean buffet lunches. Through the heat in Key West, we found this place at the end road, and right next to the beautiful water view. The restaurant was a like a garage style dine in. There were no AC, but plenty of fans that cooled us down. there were no doors or windows. The place allows all the ocean breeze to sweep you while chowing down their delicious meal. We ordered: Dozen Raw Oysters- $13 - I find that pretty reasonable Conch Red Chowder - $7 - This is non creamy chowder. Tasted similar to chilli Cracked Conch - $13 - The idea of cracked conch was prepared similar to fried calamari This has yet to be the best meal since we cruised. We enjoyed every bite and sip of their food. Highly recommended. The service was fast and friendly.

keep going and find another place to eat. disappointing! really looking forward to eating conch fritters (couldnt really tell what i was chewing) and the "flash fried" conch and they both sucked!!! conch was too tough and rubbery. I did enjoy the oysters and the crackers that accompanied them. in fact the crackers tasted better that both the conch plates lol. service was blah and unforgettable!

Breezy and cool atmosphere, beautiful aquarium behind the bar. Delightful and attentive staff, pretty large menu of fresh seafood and bar favorites. Large selection of draft and bottle beers from the Caribbean. Excellent choice for lunch or dinner on the waterfront, and live music most nights. Would make it a regular stop on every visit to Key West.

My wife and I ate here in March 2010. We had dinner at one of thier outside tables. Great Key West atmosphere. Live music nearly all of the time. We had coconut shrimp as an appetizer and they were very good. They were the biggest shrimp we have had...and we have had alot of shrimp!!! The hot pepper sauce was not too hot. For entrees, I had the catch of the day sandwich(mahi)and it was awesome...the wife had the stuffed shrimp and it was also very good. We had strawberry tempura for dessert and it was INSANE. Highly recommend this dessert...strawberries inside dough, fried and then served on a bed (seriously a bed, like two inches thick around the whole plate)then carmel and chocolate drizzle over the whole pkg. Get this dessert!!!!! Very filling!

Was here a couple of times the past year and food was good, Conch fritters are a must have and also the Paella was great. The environment right by the sea is great as well; prices are decent. Service is the main issue: usually one server has a lot of load and it takes a while and the host has a hard time figuring out who was there first so dont be surprised if they let people arriving after you ahead of you if you dont go and stand right by her/his nose....

Went here for a light dinner on our first night in KW. Service was attentive. Food was good. I had the conch chowder which was in a spicy tomato broth. My friend had the clam chowder which was quite delicious. The coconut shrimp was good, though not the best I've ever had. Overall, a lively restaurant with a variety of patrons (groups of young adults, families). I'm not sure that this is the best restaurant in KW but definitely a safe bet for a great meal with a great location.

I left Japan for US seeking more steak as I did not like seafood... came to US to find out there are more seafood restaurants in this country than Japan... The plates they offer are pretty much fresh and good and ... very seafoody... I don't like seafood... but tried some... shrimp really tasted like fresh, well cooked.... tasted shrimpy, fritters tasted like... something I cannot describe in words... strange, but edible... other people in the restaurant looked enjoying a lot. So it must be good. The atmosphere... is a bit loud but considering the location, it must be normal. I like the little shop that is part of restaurant; nothing special, I just liked it. Price is decent; plates/dishes are pretty goood. The ladies dressed with "miller beer" shirt walking around and seemingly providing guests with free(?) beer there is unknown to me. I will go back in a few weeks to the area and will try more dishes... (no seafood next time)

Alright place. We went here for dinner. Big open-air place located along the boat docks. Lively crowd, but it had the chill Key West vibe to it. We had conch fritters as starters and it was decent. I had the Cayo Hueso Paella, I like it, it was good. Service was good and pleasant. Although I like the surroundings. I think I have to downgrade this place b/c it had a touristy ambiance and kind of corporate feel to it. That's what our cabbie said and I would agree. Plus I lost my cell phone on the ride over as well. I would maybe checkout some of the other local places first. Afterwards, check this place out.

The raw oyesters and clams were ok.. the medium sized stone crab claws were definetely better than the jumbo sized. The food is ok but not delicious. Watch out for the pigeons!

Holy Cow! Great location to watch the boat and people coming and going. The best tasting and most generous cracked conch appetizer we've had in the entire Keys! We followed this up with Hammerhead IPA and stuffed mushrooms as the sun set. Stellar service and live music - Awesome exerience, even bought a Conch Republic hat!

Great location on the waterfront! You can sit on a patio or under a tiki bar. We ate a quick lunch here before boarding a boat for a snorkeling trip. Had the catch of the day, blackened as a sandwich. Came with battered fries which were especially tasty! Service was very attentive and the beers were ice cold!

  • Adriano R.

Awesome location overlooking boat docks. This is definitely one of the typical touristy Key West spots BUT we did enjoy the food and the ambiance. They have a nice size menu with plenty of options. We started out with the peel and eat shrimp which were great- large, fresh, and tasty. I went with something pretty different- snapper wellington. Who knew you could wellingtons with fish in it? Not me! Anyway, it was really good- it had a nice flaky outside typical of a wellington with fresh snapper and crab meat inside. The girl went with lobster which she also enjoyed quite a bit. One problem- if you hate birds (as my gf does), you will be real uncomfortable here as they are everywhere since this place is open to the outdoors on all sides.

  • Beatriz B.

This is a good restaurant. I like eating here only when I have a coupon. Food is good here, but not memorable. Tables could be a little cleaner, and service is a little better than OK. It is near one of the boat docks. Come here for a late lunch, then head down to Mallory Square for the Sunset Festival.

  • Mike M.

The service is fast and friendly, but it doesn't make up for the average food. This is a good place to stop by for a drink, but I would not stay for dinner. While I'm sure most restaurants in Key West cater to tourists, this seemed the most "touristy" to me.

    (3)
  • Pamela B.

Where do I start. I completely overate here and it was all amazing. To the stuffed shrimp the amazing tuna steak the mouth watering crab stuffed ravioli or the delish crusted mackerel. It was amazing. The coconut bread is off the chain. And the service is exemplary. Awesome place to eat!

  • Jessica M.

I was really excited to try the food as it was a top rec from a friend for dinner. We actually ended up going there for a special event. It was all heavy hors d'oeuvres, so we didnt eat any entrees. The conch fritters were inedible. There wasnt much taste and i had shells in both bites I took so I was unable to eat more. I didnt try the bacon wrapped scallops, but a friend did and said she found sand in them as if they werent properly cleaned. The spinach dip was gross and the meat in the beef wellington tasted funny. I tried a piece of almost everything, and in the end left hungry and afraid that I would get some sort of food borne illness. Skip this place and go elsewhere. On a high note, the location is nice.

    (1)
  • Jake L.

God awful. Huge,Cisco supplied "seafood company" within 2 minutes of 5 way better options. If you're hungry, take a pass. If you're just looking for a cold beverage down by the boats, probably not the worst you can do...

  • Skip I.

We couldn't get into the place we wanted and this was suggested to us. It's right on the water and had a nice breeze. Waiter was good, food came quickly...almost too quickly and was pretty good. Overall I give this place decent marks for location, atmosphere and decent food. There are better places to eat in key west, but this was not bad at all.

    (3)
  • Patrick H.

Great service - very friendly. Stopped in for a couple of sipping rums (and a beer). Bartender even gave us a splash of an Appleton 21. $7 or so per rum.

  • T S.

Clearly i didnt get the memo that this was the place to go to for drinks, food and live music while watching the sunset. I went to Turtle Kraw instead, which if you read my reviews was terrible. This place on the other hand had awesome food, great drinks, the service was awesome. enjoyed it. My friend had the cubanito sandwich which looked great. She was eating it like it was her last meal. I had the fish tacos, also delicious. I recommend!

Conch Republic is the jewel of Key West. And with Key West already a jewel in of itself, Conch Republic is the islands best addition. Affordable, friendly and delicious in ways unimaginable. Literally situated on the coast of the continental US, this hideaway has the largest freshly shucked oysters and shrimp, found in the continental US. Worth a trip down the famed 7 mile bridge and literally to the southern tip of North American civilization, Conch Republic will make any adventure south a worthy one, and every Key West memory a fond and hungry one.

Peel 'n eat pink shrimp was overcooked (it can happen, doesn't make CRSC a bad place - could have sent it back, but didn't) but the conch fritters were the best I've had in years. And the band was great - played Van Morrison and "Bust a Move" back to back. Pretty cool.

  • pat b.

Just okay. Definitely not worth the marked-up price for waterfront views along the main tourist cattle run. Food was pretty good, not great. Portion sizes are huge, however, for those who feel they aren't getting their money's worth if their plates weigh less than five pounds. This is a phenomenon I'll never quite understand. Service was a bit snooty, apathetic, and slow. I imagine these waiters probably hate seeing tourists day in and day out, but this section of Key West is completely dependent on a tourism-based economy! If they don't get that then they probably need to look for work in another industry. Bottom line is, if you're a frequent traveler, this place is a carbon copy of any other tourist-trap establishment on any other waterfront area anywhere else in the U.S.A. Why I keep going to these places thinking I'll discover the exception to the rule, I'll never know. It's fine, it's fine... most people can't tell the difference and don't care. Sometimes I wish I was one of those people, blissfully ignorant of the existence of better food, service, and experience somewhere up around the bend. Not necessarily more expensive, just more... genuine. Blissfully ignorant of the existence of that magical place where people take pride in their food and their restaurant, and actually want to be there, serving food and interacting with customers because they are proud of their little space in the universe. Unfortunately, I've spoiled myself with quality travel and dining over the years, and I do know the difference. I'm no food snob, although I fear that I probably come off sounding that way. But if you're reading this and this makes any sense at all, then maybe you get it too: Life is short... too short too waste time and money on stuff that sucks!!!

Came here when I was in Key West for a few weeks working (rough, I know). I ordered a Mojito with a grilled Hogfish special. I'll start off by saying that the food was very good and the mojito was satisfactory. The food alone should make this a four star place but the fact that Conch Republic is overpriced and a little too touristy for my taste slides it down to three stars in my opinion. If I were back in Key West for a few more weeks in the future I would most likely eat here on at least one occasion, but for just a weekend I would return to somewhere like Blue Heaven or Pepe's first. Ultimately I think Conch Republic serves good food but just doesn't have that Key West atmosphere that makes spending time here so enjoyable.

Whoa! this place was awesome! If your looking for a good time and some awesome key west food, you must go here. there was a live band playing some low key music when i got there (got there by bike i must add). the main bar is huge and surrounded by fish tanks. right out the back of the place is a marina that was crowded with yachts and other fishing vessels. this place is very open, you can see outside from anywhere. the staff is also very nice and helpful with recommendations. we actually brought our own bottle of wine to the table and they were okay with it, just a $20 "corking fee." just a real nice place to be when your in the keys, right at the end of Duval St. Get there

  • Christopher M.

Wow, pretty bad food and steep price. This was after we paid almost $5 for a small slice of key lime pie which was just alright at best. We had the artichoke dip and the 'road tasted' foodnetwork dish we heard about and it was pretty terrible, they went crazy on the capers, not a balanced dish at all. For one appetizer, one main entree and a one drink the bill was $50, wow. We were not a fan of key west by any means, more like rip off west and meh dining and typical tourist garbage. The sunsets were not that spectacular when we were there either, seen better in my home town. Not planning on going down this far into the keys ever again. Was a waste of our time and money. I wish we would've spent the money we blew going and eating there on Buena Vista Bistro in Miami, now that was a treat! allbeit not cheap either, but anyway thanks yelpers for the heads up on that one!

We went there because our hotel had buy one get one drink coupons... and it was totally not worth it! We had oysters to start, and they were pathetic (go to Half Shell for oysters). Their Catch of the Day Sandwich was horrible. The bread was worse than store bought bread and the fish was bland. The price we paid for a more flavorful fish sandwich at BO's Fish Shack was a fraction of our meal at Conch Republic. I must give them credit for ONE thing: their coconut mojito was the BEST mojito I've ever had. If I came back, it would only be for that.

This place is good. The location is great and you have a view of the docks. The food was good too. I had the Cuban sandwich and the cracked conch. The sauce for the conch was sweet and flavorful. My girlfriend had the pulled pork sandwich and it was really good. I thought that the service was great and I would go here again.

Don't look for Good Food here! We went for lunch on Thursday around 3pm. Food was horrible, no taste & expensive. service was pretty lousy, we had the wrong meal come and the server seemed frustrated at us for her own mistake. nice view of the pier however. i'm sure the place is a great drinking/dancing spot, but DO NOT GO if you're looking for a good meal.

Great spot. It seems like the most popular tourist spot on the island, and for good reason. Service was personable, and friendly. The server suggested the snapper, and yep..he was right! The sauces were tasty, and the drinks were strong, and cheap. The food was properly priced, and we loved it. A great spot.

I would give this place 4 or even 5 stars if not for one memorable incident. After Hurricane Dennis (which The Gal & I went through), The Conch Republic was one of the places both a) open, and b) with power. It was still raining like a banshee, and they had the rolldown doors down, so that everything was effectively inside. A ton of people were smoking, which was against their own ban on having the doors down. To say the room was filliing up with smoke would be a major understatement. The Gal mentioned it to the bartender. "Well, it's still kind of raining hard outside." "Yeah," The Gal opined, "but your sign says that no smoking will occur while the doors are down." "I'll see what I can do." Apparently, what he could do was ignore us and the other people (presumably locals) that were starting to get pissed off by the cigarette haze. Finally, a little mini-revolution took place. The Gal, for one, said a few choice comments that would make some sailors blush...but she was hardly alone in her condemnation. Finally, the bartenders opened the rolldown doors enough that the smoke could clear out. Now in the final analysis, what was up with that? Why did they so pander to the gaggle of chain smokers? Aside from that incident, the food is good but not great; however, it's priced accordingly. Lots of locals here, some decent entertainment. But damn it, if you can't actually pay attention to your patrons as a whole, especially during something like a hurricane, then you really aren't servicing your constituency; you're just pandering to your own prejudices.

Overrated, overpriced, and not worth it. A total tourist trap. The conch fritters were excellent, but it went downhill from there. The mohitos had a funny astringent taste. The dolphin was bland. My salad was mostly lettuce with a slimy, inedible avocado half buried in it. The shrimp was supposed to be blackened but were not. Bill for two, with two drinks each, was well over $100. Walk a little further along and get a great meal at Dante's.

What a beautiful view this place has of the sea. Very nice atmosphere, though crowded. We ordered the raw clams and oysters and fried conch, all of which were very tasty and fresh. There was a party of middle aged woman a few tables away from us having a blast, doing shots and cheering. It was lunchtime, a little too early for us, but I can imagine this place as a lot of fun at night.

Loud and the food From the people around us didn't look impressive. Not kids friendly; we waited for service & finally got up & left as we waited too long! Don't think we'll bother to return...too many great places in the keys to eat with better service.

This place is right on the marina in Key West. It's open air and has more of a bar feel with restaurant food. Had the fresh snapper and it was excellent. Wonderul mojitos too. All people in our party enjoyed their food with the exception of the artichoke dip. Way too salty. Fun specialty drinks and great key lime pie. This is a "happenin" place and is always crowded. I would go back if I'm ever in Key West again.

It was our first time in Key West last month, and I love this place. We only ordered a few dishes and surprisingly they were all good: Oysters: very fresh Steamed clams: very fresh, great sauce with dice tomatoes and some green leaves Stuffed mushroom: very good, juicy mushroom and fresh crabs

Lots to like about this place, not necessarily lots to love. OK food, great location, good drinks... pretty large and touristy- but hey, we're in Florida and Key West... what do we expect?!?!? Although I've just given three stars, I've been several times and will go again... just manage your expectations. This place is like one of 20 other places in Key West... nice, good, fun...

I was looking for a nice place to sit by the docks to overlook the boats and nature without spending a fortune. I'd suggest the Catch of the day sandwich. Pan seared snapper with the steak fries. Your waiter will probably steer you toward the special of the day such as the grooper sandwich. Stick with the Pan seared catch and you save $. The grooper is double the cost and probably not as good. I wish I could have went for dinner but Lunch was amazing. Yum. Next time.

Conch Republic is a regular stop for us on our annual trips to Key West. It is all about the atmosphere! Sitting right on the wharf, it is a great location for watching all the activity on the docks. The wait staff is extremely friendly and the fresh fish is fresh--trust me--as is the Key West pink shrimp. Factoring food, service and atmosphere, Conch Republic provides a great overall experience. Enjoy!

Should be 3 1/2 stars because it truly is a nice relaxing place to grab lunch or dinner. We had the conch fritters as an appetizer. A little bready, but good flavor. I had the Mahi-Mahi blackened sandwich and thought it was cooked great. Not too spicy, but the fish was juicy and delicious. Lobster bisque was excellent. My wife had the grilled shrimp with rice and veggies. No complaints from her and she finished the entire meal (an unusual occurrence) . Also tried the key lime pie. I like my key lime pie on the sour side not sweet and this did not disappoint. Overall good meal, but pricey. Mojitos were disappointing. Overly sweet, little rum flavor and the mint wasn't wasn't muddled. Otherwise OK. It is nice to look out over the water while eating so get ready to relax nd enjoy.

Perfectly nice, but nothing special. Food was pretty good and not too high priced, but not a bargain, either.

It was New Year's Eve and we were a party of eight with no reservations. The wait was painless, probably 15 minutes. The food was okay - ordered the crab cakes, plantain chip coated white fish served with yellow rice and ricotta like dessert. All dishes were just in case. Other members of our party, however, did enjoy it .. one raved about the lobster bisque and another of the stuffed shrimp. Overall, even though the service was good and we were quickly accommodated, the food was nothing special and not sure if I would return.

We were here for a wedding reception dinner. Really great place to plan your events!!!!!!! For 30 people we had two servers and a bartender that were on top of everything from the moment we arrived. The bartender didn't even blink when we asked for 30 key lime shots. Didn't have better servers anywhere during the whole trip. Apps were antipasto skewers, jerk chicken fingers, conch fritters (gotta be best in Key west), and huge coconut shrimp. For dinner we had filet, lobster tail, stuffed shrimp. All very good. We had a great time watching the boats come and go. Highly recommended for big groups!

Upon arriving in Key West I wanted to try Conch Fritters and what better place than a place called Conch Republic Seafood Company right? It might just be me, but I don't get Conch Fritters. Maybe I should have tried Conch prepared differently because I found the Conch too chewy and the Fritter was too dense. The best part was the Key Lime Mustard for dipping. Along with the Fritters, we had Coconut Shrimp, Calamari, and a half dozen raw Oysters. The Coconut Shrimp were big and plump, but was drizzled with a mint sauce. The mint sauce did not go well with the Coconut Shrimp at all, almost ruining the dish. The Calamari was good with a White Barbeque Sauce, but the winner of the meal was the raw Oysters. The Oysters were a nice, decent size and very fresh! Overall everything was A-OK, but I'm put off by menus that don't list prices for items like drinks and seafood. The food was average, the drinks were decent, the service was friendly, and the view overlooking the marina was nice, but this place is a bit of a tourist trap.

Grabbed lunch & some beers here each time while waiting for the snorkeling boat to leave. The fish & salads here are the best I have on my trips to Key West. Loved the spices on the table & the open atmosphere.

It had a great view! The service was not that great but I had a really good salad and the beer selection was pretty good! If you just want to hang out and take in teh scene its a great place for that and good beer!

Great views. Seating right next to the water. The food was really good. I tried the cracked conch for an appetizer and a pulled pork sandwich for lunch. They were both very good and the portions are huge.

I think that every time we go to Key West we make a stop here. We love the food, the atmosphere and the view. The service is always great - the wait staff is friendly and always smiling. Very engaging. I usually order the catch of the day sandwich here - always fresh and cooked to perfection. They've got the idea here and I'll always be back to get some more!

Foods ok, and the beer selection is ok. The prices are outrageous. It is for tourist only.

  • Amie A.

Below mediocre. We both had the Cesaer salad. It was drenched in what tasted like bottled salad dressing (and coincidentally tasted nothing like Cesaer dressing, even the creamy version). I had the snapper dinner which had a bizarre orangy preparation on it. It over-powered and ruined the taste of what was probably some good snapper. He had the lobster tails which were tough and over-cooked. He had a Newcastle bottled beer (it was nice to see decent beer somewhere on the island) and I had a tasty rum drink. Service was friendly and not overdone. Meal prices were way out of their range for food this less than average. I'd go here again for drinks but wouldn't waste my time or money on the food.

My wife worked the Keys for a few days and I flew down to meet her. When I got in, she was at the Conch Republic with her sales rep and a number of friends (all local). That they were local and here was a good sign for me. Happy hour here is GREAT! 2 for 1 drafts, with a good selection. Being on the water, drinking cold beers, with good company doesn't suc*. The waiter and waitress working our area were very friendly, didn't mind separate checks, and kept their sense of humor despite a frenetic, busy crowd. Did not eat here but will rectify that the next time down.

This restaurant has ambiance by the boatload because it is located on the boardwalk; however, the food is subpar and over-priced. If you want to hang out and drink at a bar with lots of dock-side ambiance, this is THE place. Go elsewhere for food. Our shrimp cocktail seemed to have been frozen because it had a mushy post-thawing consistency. The raw oysters were fresh but they were too large and bland. Not a good type to eat raw, but would perhaps be better served fried (unfortunately, they don't offer it that way). The gumbo soup had no rice or sausage and it was also bland -- how could that be??? The service wasn't good either as the waiter disappears into the back and won't check on you for a good 20 minutes. We were the only patrons at that time.

  • La C.

Really pretty place, right along the water, great place to view the boats coming in and out. Its an open air style restaurant with lots of tables so seating was quick even during lunch time. Since we were in the Conch (pronounced Conk, like conk on the head) republic we started with the Conch fritters. These were not spectacular, reminded me of hushpuppies with chewy pieces of meat in them. We also went with Cesar salads with grilled shrimp. The food was ok, on the bland side. The prices are high and the service is rushed. You're really just here for the view and nothing else.

    (3)
  • Brandon G.

Service was good, but food was mediocre for the price paid for dinner (all entrées were over $20 except half rack of ribs). Nice place to hang out, poor location to eat at.

I loved the yellow tail wellington...it was sooo rich. My husband loved his hog fish catch of the day!!!

This is a classic touristy trap, the service was good, but the food was not good especially for the price. They serve pretty good mango/pineapple bread to start. We had the Coconut Shrimp which was pretty good also. I ordered the Lobster Tails, they are served on cooked spinish and tomatoes which I didn't like, the texture wasn't good and the tails were a bit dry. Overpriced for what you get. However, they were serving Key Lime Mojitos which were very good.

  • Josh C.

We both had the catch of the day sandwhich, which was snapper. The fish was good, but my sandwhich fell apart on me. Everything was pretty tasty and the view was very pleasant overlooking the marina. It was a good experience overall, but we aren't running to go back there. The flavors were lacking slightly. Excellent service.

This place was a surprise. Near Mallory Square, so went there with the family after the obligatory visit to see the sunset and the related goings-on at the square on a beautiful night. This place had drawn our attention; it is big and open with a large bar right in the middle. It spoke to us: a good place to come with the kids and have some drinks and (hopefully) a decent, but not great, meal. Well, the meal may not be great, but it is much more than decent. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The special grouper was very good, according to my wife. My mahi-mahi sandwich on pseudo-Cuban bread (ie, not the real thing) was very good. The appetizers were also very good. And the drinks were decent. All in all, a pretty good place for what it is; and the four stars account for that fact. It is not a "fancy" or "elegant" four star rating. It isa four star rating for a mass population, touristy place that still gives you a very decent piece of fresh fish.

This was so far the best restaurant in Key West in my opinion. Their oysters were awesome! The good location and the locals recommended, so we knew that the meals were great. I will go back to eat there again.

Two words people. Cracked conch. We had the Conch Republic recommended to us by one of our fellow hotel guests and it did not disappoint. Conch is pretty popular around Key West but you usually see it in either conch chowder or conch fritters. The cracked conch is much lighter as it is conch in tempura batter and served with a marmalade dipping sauce. Its absolutely fantastic. It still has a bit of the rubbery texture, somewhat like calamari but the taste is between shrimp and crab. We also had the stuffed shrimp which was basically a giant shrimp stuffed with what could have been a crab cake wrapped in bacon and served with a fancy barbeque sauce. My boyfriend and I were in heaven. Its a great atmosphere - the place is enormous with a long fish tank separating the bar from the restaurant. When we went, there was a really great singer/guitarist playing all sorts of James Taylor and Jimmy Buffet songs. He seemed to be a crowd favorite as the place was packed and everyone was singing along.

  • Matt C.

This spot is just what you'd expect, a tourist trap. The food is so so, the drinks are watered down and the restaurant features a gift shop (never a good sign). The saving grace is the beautiful deck overlooking the pier. If you are just in town for a day or two you could do a lot better, but could also do a lot worse. Oh, FYI, if you order the conch fritters be prepared to eat a lot of shell...

  • Mayo L.

Awesome location. Friendly staff. A great mix of locals and tourists. You can get food, drinks and a list of to-dos on the island. The fried conch is a great thing to share and it's what they're known for!

Celebrated the Millennium here when it first opened. Been back every trip here since. Let be realistic, this is a tourist trap. The food is OK, not great. Basically, over priced bar food. And when I say overpriced, I mean it. They have entrées for $45 that you wouldn't pay $18 for. The atmosphere is nice but loud.

My boyfriend and I were in Key West for only a couple of days and ended up back here more than once. The location is right on the water, great little gift shop and service was excellent. The food was good, lots of options for drinks as well! Will be returning here when we get back to Key West!

Tourist trap. Food wasn't authentic and everything is really heavy and breaded. Kind of knew it walking on to that pier but come on, can't win every time.

2.5 stars. Always thought of this place as a staple of Key West, in many past visits it seemed a can't miss. This past week, I could of skipped it. I'll start by saying the conch chowder tasted good except it didn't seem like conch chowder. It was not chowder at all, more like conch chili. The calamari was dissapointing, very bland. Hubby had the swordfish and he liked it, and it was cooked just right. They have fun drinks but everyone in KW does and they are pricey here. The service was fine. We got our food and drinks in adequate time and the servers came around enough to ask us if we needed anything else. No happy hour prices in the dining area, only bar... bummer. The prices are high for what you get, specially the drinks. Open space, breezy, and relaxed. The bar is big and plenty of room to walk, etc. They have live music in the afternoons/evening, nice. It is right by the water but the view is all blocked by boats, kayaks, etc. You might get a glimpse of water, possibly. It is right by the the boardwalk so you can just leave and walk it for a nicer view. Overall, doubt I'll be back again. There are many places within walking distance that are much better. However, if you end up here, make sure it is for happy hour.

Stay away. Food was generic - not terrible, just flavorless. "Meh" is the perfect word for it. Servers try to get you out as quickly as possible - they tried to take plates before we were finished. I had coconut shrimp (dull) and mahi mahi (also lacking flavor). Atmosphere is like an on-shore airplane hangar.

Good casual open air place with live music and right on the water.... the food is good and not pricey. The staff are all wonderful and helpful. This is a must if you like shrimp..... shhhh don't tell anyone.... they're not on the menu... you have to ask.... ask for the REDS..... my wife and I get 1/2 lb of pinks and 1/2 lb of REDS... Tell them Roryblane sent you.... Enjoy

We spent several pleasant hours at the bar. Mojitos and beer, seafood and a breeze, can an afternoon get better??? For ladies that haven't been to Key West before - this is going to be the biggest and cleanest bathroom you'll find, so enjoy. The stalls are big enough to be able to step in before climbing into the stall next to the toilet and closing the door. And if there is a problem, let the store person know - I reported one minor problem and she was on the radio immediately. It was fixed by the time I returned to the ladies room an hour later.

  • Rodger L.

The food was average at best, service was ok. The best part of this place is the slush drinks and the ambiance. Great view. But there are many other restaurants in the area with the same view. In my opinion a total tourist trap

  • Josh N.

Super cool spot, decent food, minimally overpriced. Awesome place on the harbor. Food was decent. Had a snapper BLT- blackened seasoning overpowered the sandwich, a little soggy, and the bread sucked. Toasting the roll would have made a huge difference, but I guess they can't be bothered. My sister's mahi mahi tacos earned rave reviews from her. Stop by the visitor's center first for a 2-for-1 drink coupon.

No No NO NO NO. We were skeptical by the looks of this place. Short Lesson: Don't expect a decent food experience in Key West when the place has a damn gift shop. Longer Lesson: When hungry, spend the extra 5 minutes to YELP it out, dammit. We were STUPID and went here. The only highlight was the very firm and great tasting shrimp cocktail they had. Other than that, the place is a bust. Very touristy and bro-tastic, this spot is right on the water and NOT WORTH THE VIEW. I rarely complain about service, so just saying it stunk here. Now I know that's not the measure of a restaurant. So here's about the food: BOOOOOO. The conch chowder tasted like small chunked chili. The blackened mahi sandwich fell apart due to stale bread, and there was nothing blackened about it. The fish tacos were OK, but then we had fish tacos at a place with decent reviews and an actual CHEF...and we realized how crappy these were in comparison. And the Cuban sandwich could have been made in my house with much better ingredients. Don't go, only because there are SOOOOO many great Key West spots that have comparable views or prices. NO NO NO!

Me and my mom accidentally stumbled upon this place just looking for somewhere to eat in Key West. The food and the drinks were amazing!! I will definitely be coming back here! Our server was also nice and helpful and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Key West! It had a great atmosphere and live music.

$22 for 5 shrimp that didn't have flavor. Services was decent right up to point where he chased down 2 of our guys into the street for not tipping. Really? Do you think that'll help your cause?

Great place! We loved the manhattan style conch chowder; had just a tiny bit of heat and was marvelous! Raw oysters on the half shelf were delectable served with horseradish. Very lovely atmosphere! LIked the two for one drinks at happy hour.

We celebrated my moms 60th birthday here. We contacted them in advance any they made menus with her name wrote it was her birthday. The appetizers were placed on the table within 15 minutes of us being there and they whey family style. Each part of the table had a plate of crab cakes, chicken tenders, conch fritters and celery sticks. The three meals to choose from were great and the dessert was, of course, key lime pie. While I didn't get an opportunity to see the Menu and prices, I did enjoy everything that was served. The mashed potatoes were GREAT! I had the snapper and it was very good. The chimchuri was the one thing that saved the meal, because the fish alone was not flavorful. I tried the jerk chicken, good but not to spicy, and the pork chops had lots of flavor and also had some kick to it. I'm not a fan of spicy and these meals both had a flavor to them, so the kick was a compliment to the meals, not a negative. Our server was fantastic!!! Everyone there was great and within minutes of us finishing our meals, someone was there to take them away. They were very accommodating. Live music! It's so nice to eat dinner listening to the many great artists in town. You can still have great conversation even if your closer to the stage because the noise isn't overwhelming. This place is a must if you come to Key West!

Love their food but the service wasnt that good. The staff starting clearing everything infront of us before we were even done eating, it seems like they were trying to rush us even though there were a lot of tables still available.

Nice view. Good, solidly prepared seafood. Our dishes ranged from oysters on the half shell, cracked conch and conch chowder to the mahi mahi tacos. All was delicous. Our waitress was very attentive.

Nice lunch or dinner spot. Open air restaurant with some garage style doors that let them somewhat control air flow, etc. Some people might have issues with some of the pigeons or other birds flying about, but if you're looking for some fancy dining option, it isn't here. Variety of beers available, full bar, but not as wide of a lunch selection as I would have thought. Make sure you see the lunch specials as well as the regular menu. Hostess stand is more in the middle of the restaurant (near the neat long fish tanks), but could be a little confusing if this is your first time here. Food was pretty good, the fish "nuggets" were very tasty and just what we were looking for. Location is nice, as it is just in the middle of the L in terms of geography of the boardwalk/marina walk. Waitresses were very nice and overall would recommend going there.

  • Dan M.

It's usually hard to get Snapper wrong. This one was served like it came out of a microwave rather than off a grill. The green garlic sauce served with this is overpowering to the point if being toxic and it takes willpower to finish it.

  • Andy D.

I'm very impressed with the service here at this tourist rich restaurant, and I was pleased by the food too. Yes, I've had better, but typically in places where tourists are abound, the food sucks. My Conch Chowder was very good and my oysters were very fresh. My G/F crab cakes were horrible, worst I ever had, they should try a new recipe. But, all around good service, good lunch fare, and affordable.

    (3)
  • Trent R.

The blackened mahi mahi sandwich was fresh and tasty. The jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab meat, wrapped in bacon and accompanied with mango salsa - lip smacking good! Add to the fact it's right on the marina so you get a nice sea breeze and live music. What a great place to enjoy a warm afternoon.

Dinner here the first evening in Key West. On the wharf and a great view. The server was extremely pleasant and helpful in our selections. Oysters, grouper, crab, chowder and the MOST AMAZING shrimp I have ever encountered. Side note: I love steamed shrimp and will always order in a restaurant when I know they are fresh. These particular shrimp were Royal Reds. They were sweet and the texture resembled that of lobster. After researching it is my understanding they have a little more fat content. These shrimp are not always available and quite pricey...trust me....worth the splurge. This was the perfect beginning to a wonderful time in Key West. We were not disappointed with anything we ordered.

The fish of the night was Cobia - I had never heard of it and the waitress had a hard time telling me anything about it. It was ok. The blackened preparation was pretty good, thought I found the sweet-citrus sauce on it a bit strange. The rice with it was rather good. My dad had the St. Kitts (crab ravioli) which I tried - they were excellent! The mojitos were disappointing. Most places I would expect a much better meal for the prices here. But this is Key West. Expect a $10 to $15 surcharge for the fact it is Key West and you won't be disappointed. Don't expect good entertainment though. I think there was a guy playing a guitar and singing to a midi track and he sounded a bit out of tune...

This cuisine reigns meritocracy. Nothing creative or especially delicious in this place. It is a very ordinary seafood restaurant, serving very ordinary meals. Pros: convenient location, large (easy to get tables) Cons: Large (noise and no special service), boring food. If I want 1970s style seafood, I know where to go.

Pretty solid food with a great view of the harbor. We generally just stop by the Conch Republic for drinks but opted to stay for dinner this trip. I had the fresh catch which was Hogfish, blackened with their JuJu slather (spicy - sweet sauce) It was properly cooked, moist and accompanied by a nice variety of fresh veggies and rice. My wife went for the grilled Key West shrimp. They were nice sized and accompanied by a very spicy jerk sauce. Service was quick and friendly.

Was directed to go to these place from the hotel owner. its Key West so I don't expect much from any restaurant really bc they have to deal with so many tourists year round and this is a place i would come back to again on another Key West adventure. the place is touristy but it has a huge long bar with a good selection of drafts to choose from. You have a great ambiance and an overlook of the water and boats right off the dock. Whie your waiting for your table to can take a stroll on the dock. The food was good. Nothing out of these world but good. I have the ribs and boy were they HUGE. A full rack full of BBQ and delicious after all the snorkeling we did and energy we burnt. My guy had the shrimp and scallop stir-fry which he said was good but was not nearly a huge portion like mine so if you got a guy who's really hungry the ribs is where its add. I don't often share food but I couldn't finish these bad boys and handed them off to my guy whom was delighted with them as I was. Maybe we were hungry or just a lil bit drunk but the food was actually good for Key West and the location makes it a key spot to have dinner before hitting the nightlife on Duval.

Big Boisterous Seafood Place....................with plenty of draft choices + great views as you are on the Harbor Walk. Food is a 7 out of 10..............but with views like this and "music a playin" this is a 4 star joint. Wish i was there now!

The Dark and Stormy was made like it is in Bermuda with Gosling 's Black Seal Rum and even Gosling's ginger beer; Dave's Prickly Pear Margarita a work of art. Our stone crab was fabulous dipped in the garlic butter sauce. The Key Lime Pie was perfect, as was the meal.

Conch Farm, as the locals call it, is a great place for an enjoyable evening. The location is beautiful, you can see the water, the boats, docks, the things that make Key West lovely. They usually have a musician playing and signing great songs, so the atmosphere is certainly fantastic. The food is about average. They have a couple of really tasty dishes but for the most part it's really quite middle of the road. Their bread is a coconut bread-sooo good. Their lobster bisque is really good, too, as is their cracked conch (all appetizers). The rest of the menu items are pretty standard, and like I said, nothing to write home about.

  • Chase W.

We had their soup of the day which was shrimp and chorizo (tasted like gumbo). Conch fritters 6/10 - definitely had better here on the island. The mahi however was a 10/10. Service was great and we were able to sit right on the water.

Awesome place! Definitely a place to hit up if you are in town. Open and airy, HUGE bar area, great atmosphere, on and off live music. All in all, my boyfriend and I loved it. We walked around the Schooner area hitting up most places but always ended up back here. Friendly bartenders also. I had the Grouper when it was the Catch of the Day and it was delicious. I loved the sauce it was covered in. My boyfriend had the Cayo Hueso Paella and also loved it. Fritters are good and so it the sauce they come with. Key Lime martini wasn't the best I've had. That is the only thing I have bad to say about this place. FIVE STARS EASILY!!!

For this establishment to be in Key West they deserve a rating of just OK IMO. The food was tasty but not memorable, and the place is a bit pricey for the small size portions they serve you, but I must admit the Wait staff was very attentive and very Friendly. Good Service / Great Waiter.

My husband and I went to the conch republic for dinner while in Key West. I had the cracked conch with a orange horseradish sauce (almost like a marmalade with a kick) Very good. He had a chicken sandwich with fries, he seemed to like.

Was really looking forward to eating here. It was highly recommended. The seating is right on the water. Place was packed but there was no wait for a table. My friend and I started with the conch fritters. It was a little different than what I had in Nassau and they were fried really hard. For dinner I had the Island Half Chicken. It was pretty good. Kind of skimpy of the plantains but chicken was good. My friend had the pork chops. He also had Key Lime pie for dessert. Our cocktails were pretty good. Overall it was kinda of a mixed bag. Next time I will try the seafood entrees.

Loved this place! HUGE bar, right on the marina area and the seafood was awesome. A dozen large oysters for $16 - misprint on the menu - who knows! Drinks were good and the staff was friendly and genuine. We were in key west for a week and went here 3 times. The seafood was delicious and really fresh!!

The food was good, I had the catch of the day fish sandwich. The french fries were some of the best I've ever had. Also tried the conch chowder, which was pretty good. Key lime pie for dessert, which was very good. What really makes this place though is the location and atmosphere. Completely open on 3 of the 4 sides, so its really like a big covered porch. And its literally on the boat docks. Our table was on the railing, and we got to watch a lobster dock and unload its catch. Really cool.

Amazing food and an amazing Cafe with good Music. The place really comes to life at night. The food was also amazing and liked by the entire group I was with

This place is pretty big. A definite tourist area. The ambiance was pretty nice. There's a bar area for people who just rather have drinks. The food quality is comparable to a Chili's but seafood oriented. Service needs improvement. The waitress, the server, and the bus boy were not pleasant. No one smiles. Erupt and short tones. Would not come here again. Good service at a restaurant is a must, no matter how good your food is. And when your food is only average, you better make up for it in service. They didn't. Fail on service.

Food was great, I got the mahi sandwich. Live music was also chill, groovy, and fun! I would highly recommend this Key West eatery right on the water at the A and B Marina!

Delicious food and live music on the docks in Key West. This is an experience no one should miss. The conch fritters are stellar. Don't ask, just go and enjoy!

Good food....great location off of the busy Duval Street stuff. I had the spinich salad one day (which was great)...a wonderful hamburger the next. My wife had crab cakes....very good. Love the location! The service was prompt and attentive.

  • Kathy T.

    (3)

    (3)

    (3)

    (3)

  • Larry K.

We really enjoyed our meals, good service and fresh fish. They offered us desert but didn't offer anything sugar free!

  • Mike B.

    (2)

    (4)
  • C A.

Surprisingly good, being that it looks like a huge tourist trap, or maybe it is, but it is still just a good place. Steamed clams and fried conch are very good. Chicken strips for kids were pretty good too. Great view of the marina.

    (4)

  • David W.

Great location on the marina. Great huge open air seating area. Food was decent, not great but decent. The open air seating on the marina made me like this place. Tip: their in-house xxx hot sauce is serious stuff. Be sure to read the label be four pouring gobs of it on your food.

    (4)
  • Jamie R.

Yummm !!

The end.

Amazing!

  • Fahimeh F.

We had the cracked conch (very tasty!), the daily catch sandwich, and the coriander tuna... All of them were very delicious. Great service, despite the crowd, nice live music, and good food while overlooking the water. What more could we ask for??

  • Keith A.

  • Scott C.

  • Andrew J.

I really love this place, right on the harbor. It's my go-to happy hour spot in Key West. 2 for 1 drinks, live music, rustic open air space with a huge bar and great food. Perfect place for some oysters and beers before heading over to Mallory Square for the nightly sunset celebration freak show.

  • Sandrine E.

    (2)
  • Carla L.

  • stephanie f.

Host staff was awful. They were rude and extremely unaccommodating. The food was good, but nothing special, and with all of the awesome places in Key West, I would recommend trying some of the other spots on the island.

    (2)

    (3)
  • Meghann M.

My wife enjoyed her entree too but I forgot what it was.

came for happy hour, but stayed for dinner.

I don't disagree with other reviewers, just was underwhelmed.

it's been over a year since i had the pleasure of eating here, but i remember the experience as if it were yesterday- that's how good the food was! must have item: stuffed shrimp. it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! you are literally next to the ocean, so you can smell the amazingness that is the ocean. it really doesn't get any fresher.

This is a good restaurant. I like eating here only when I have a coupon. Food is good here, but not memorable. Tables could be a little cleaner, and service is a little better than OK. It is near one of the boat docks. Come here for a late lunch, then head down to Mallory Square for the Sunset Festival.

Great service - very friendly. Stopped in for a couple of sipping rums (and a beer). Bartender even gave us a splash of an Appleton 21. $7 or so per rum.

The food was great and the atmosphere was good also. The place is very open and relaxing, the food is delicious and all I remember is how good the conch fritters were. After consuming those I went into a food coma and dont remember a thing! ha.

Great staff, great food, great location, great music. Love this place. (see picture) I'm so red in the face from all the water sports earlier in the day. =)
